Convocation ceremony of Tezpur University 2026
ABKK, Kamarupa, Tezpur, 22 July 2026: Tezpur University organised a Special Convocation for its graduating international students at the Council Hall, where 10 students from Botswana, Kenya, Bangladesh, Zambia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Nepal were awarded their graduation certificates by Prof. Amarendra Kumar Das, Pro Vice-Chancellor.
The ceremony was graced by Shri N. Munish Singh, Zonal Director, ICCR, North East Regional Office, as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Prof. Das encouraged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning, respect diversity, and become proud ambassadors of their alma mater. He noted that India is a “mini world” of diversity and emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships with countries across Africa and beyond for shared development.
Shri N. Munish Singh highlighted ICCR’s efforts to promote the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India through cultural and educational initiatives. He urged the graduates to serve as ambassadors of both India and their home countries, fostering friendship and mutual understanding across borders. He also interacted with the graduating students, encouraging them to cherish their experiences at Tezpur University and strengthen the bonds between India and their respective nations.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Biren Das, Controller of Examinations; Prof. Ashim Jyoti Thakur, Dean, Academic Affairs; Dr. Chandan Goswami, Registrar (i/c); Prof. Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, Director, Directorate of International Affairs; along with Deans and Heads of Departments.
