INTERNATIONAL TALK ON “INGREDIENTS OF ACADEMIC WRITING

ABKK Kamarupa, Guwahati, 11th August 2026: The Internationalization Wing, Arya Vidyapeeth College (Autonomous), Guwahati, organised an International Talk on “Ingredients of Academic Writing” on 10 August 2026 at Conference Hall 3 of the College at 3pm. The session was specially designed for faculty members, research scholars, and students undertaking projects and dissertations, with participation from faculty members across the Pure Arts and Social Sciences.
The resource person, Dr. Rituparna Bhattacharyya, FRGS, SFHEA, an accomplished academic, editor and researcher based in the United Kingdom, delivered an insightful and highly engaging session on developing stronger, clearer and more impactful scholarly writing. Drawing upon her extensive editorial and academic experience, Dr. Bhattacharyya discussed the essential ingredients of effective academic writing, including argument, architecture, evidence, academic register, clarity, citation and research integrity. She also addressed contemporary concerns surrounding citation integrity and the responsible and transparent use of AI in academic writing.
The programme began with the felicitation of the resource person by Dr. Chhandashree Bhuyan, Coordinator, Internationalization Wing, followed by her welcome address. Dr. Deboshree Bhattacharyya compered the programme, while Daisy Rani Hazarika introduced the resource person and highlighted her academic contributions.
Members of the Core Team of the Internationalization Wing, along with faculty members from different disciplines, attended the programme. The formal presentation was followed by a vibrant and stimulating interaction, during which participants engaged with the resource person on different aspects of research, dissertation preparation, academic publishing and scholarly writing. This programme was under the Social Sciences branch of the Internationalization Wing.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Suli Yohana Ayemi.

The session proved to be a meaningful academic initiative, providing participants with practical perspectives for strengthening their research and academic writing skills.
